How We Treat Slip and Fall?
Something as simple as walking into a store and slipping on a wet surface or falling due to an obstruction can lead to a serious injury.
These slip and fall injuries can have long-term and debilitating consequences, causing personal injuries that may involve trauma to extremities, head, neck or spinal cord. If you have been injured due to a slip and fall accident, schedule a visit with our doctors to evaluate and document your injuries.
Each case is unique but most commonly, patients undergoing the DRX9000 spinal decompression treatment start feeling better after the first couple of weeks. Some after the first couple of treatments. Others may not experience relief until the end of a spinal decompression program. Most patients will undergo 20 treatments over a period of 6 weeks.
When someone starts feeling better right away, they are more likely to achieve a favorable outcome. But just because someone gets off to a slow start, doesn’t mean the treatment will not help. In fact, soreness is fairly common in the beginning and it’s not uncommon to be sore all the way through the decompression therapy, but at the same time be getting better. After all, the treatment is physical.
Spinal decompression uses mechanical traction to gently stretch the spine. During this procedure, you will lay on a special table while our healthcare professional controls the traction device through a computer. A session typically consists of periods of decompression with a relaxation cycle in between, for a total of 30 minutes.
Have a Slip and Fall Question?
If you’ve had a slip or fall that is causing discomfort, we can help. Pain associated with slip and fall injuries are not immediately apparent. Sometimes the pain appears out of nowhere the day after your slip and fall. After this type of fall, you need medical attention and a full evaluation of your injury. If you wait or never go see a doctor after your slip and fall, you may increase your chances of having long term effects from the injury.
It is important to seek the advice of a doctor immediately after your slip and fall injury. Your injury needs to be documented by an accident doctor to preserve the integrity of your case. Slip and Fall accidents are common in department stores, grocery stores and restaurants and are generally caused by someone’s negligence. Often the negligent party will try and settle the case as soon as possible to avoid treatment and financial compensation. Before you accept any compensation for your slip and fall injury, seek the advice of a doctor to determine the extent of your injuries.

Science and Facts
In a recent outcome study by T. Gionnis (submitted to the Journal of Musculoskeletal Medicine), 500 potential patients with back pain and pain radiating into the extremities were treated on the DRX 9000. With treatment success defined by a reduction of pain to 0 or 1 on the pain scale, the DRX 9000 treatment was successful for 86% of the 219 patients included in the study.
At our Naples Spinal Decompression Center we monitor how a patient feels (subjective data) and how a patient’s body is functioning (objective data) every day and direct the treatments accordingly.
About halfway through cervical decompression therapy or lumbar decompression therapy we do a re-exam and decide whether or not specific core spinal exercises and stretches should be introduced. Some patients are not ready yet.
Some patients tell us they feel “looser” or they can move better, or sleep better, or they have more energy…(in addition to less pain). We call these “signs of life” and they are a good thing.
Chronic back pain, chronic neck pain, sciatica, radiating arm pain, numbness, tingling are all signs and symptoms of nerve pressure that may be coming from disc bulges or herniated discs.
Our advice: Stay the course and let the treatment unfold. Keep your appointments. Do your exercises, participate in the home care, eat an anti-inflammatory diet and give the DRX9000 spinal decompression treatment a chance.
